Neue Fassadengestaltung an der A111 thematisiert den aktuellen Umgang mit gesellschaftlichen Werten.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der in Berlin lebende K\u00fcnstler Stohead (Christoph H\u00e4ssler) hat eine besondere ONE WALL im Rahmen des gleichnamigen URBAN NATION-Programms auf einem Geb\u00e4ude in der Delpzeile 14 in Berlin-Charlottenburg gestaltet. Bei dem farbenfrohen Mural handelt es sich um eine schriftba-sierte k\u00fcnstlerische Fassadenarbeit. Damit setzt sie einen neuen Schwerpunkt innerhalb der ONE WALL-Reihe. Von der Autobahn A111 (aus Richtung Hamburg bzw. Tegel) ist die Fassadenge-staltung gut zu sehen und markiert interessierten Autofahrer*innen zuk\u00fcnftig eine Wegmarke auf ihrer Fahrt durch die Stadt. Mit diesem Merkmal gliedert sich die Arbeit auf besondere Weise in die urbane Landschaft ein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stoheads k\u00fcnstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit Buchstaben und Zeichen findet ihren Ursprung in seiner Vergangenheit als Graffiti-K\u00fcnstler. Das stetige Reproduzieren des eigenen Writernamens und das damit verbundene Einschreiben in den Stadtraum, steht im Zentrum der Graffiti-Kultur. Als Ergebnis dieser Praxis entwickeln sich eigene Stile und Formensprachen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indem sich Stohead der Schrift und den Buchstaben als Werkzeug bedient, findet er seinen k\u00fcnstlerischen Ausdruck. Mit dieser Herangehensweise evoziert er einen abstrakten und techni-schen Zugang zu dem Medium: Schrift und Buchstaben l\u00f6sen sich in nahezu expressionistischen Prozessen immer weiter auf und verwandeln sich teilweise in abstrakte Malerei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit dem Werk, das den Titel \u201eWorth\u201c (Deutsch: Wert) tr\u00e4gt, thematisiert der ehemalige Hamburger den momentanen Umgang mit Werten innerhalb unserer Gesellschaft: \u201eAus aktuellem Anlass setzt sich die Gesellschaft wieder intensiver mit Werten auseinander. Das zitierte Titelwort wird durch Skalierung einzelner Buchstaben und Ver- und \u00dcberlagerungen sowie den Farbwelten optisch verzerrt und unterschiedlich gewichtet. Diese \u201eWerteverzerrung\u201c, also sehr unterschiedliche Beurteilung von Werten, ist ebenfalls in unserer Gesellschaft zu beobach-ten. Stilistisch liegt diesem Entwurf die ROUNDTIP Schriftart zu Grunde<\/em>.\u201c so der K\u00fcnstler Stohead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interessant ist hierbei die Arbeitsweise des K\u00fcnstlers: Durch seine Besch\u00e4ftigung mit Kalligra-phie, Stylewriting und Schriftbild tastet er sich an eine ikonische Darstellung seiner Buchstaben heran. F\u00fcr seine neue und bisher gr\u00f6\u00dfte Arbeit in Berlin, hat der K\u00fcnstler eine unglaubliche F\u00fclle an Farbt\u00f6nen verwendet. Die einzelnen Buchstaben des Wortes \u201eWorth\u201c bilden ein sattes Farb-bild, das in seiner Vielfalt und Formensprache an k\u00fcnstlerische Bewegungen der 70er-Jahre erin-nert. Bez\u00fcge zum Design Verner Pantons oder zu den Grafiken Victor Vasarelys sind erkennbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eStohead nimmt literarische Zitate und inhaltliche Botschaften in seine Bilder auf, welche seine Schriftzeichen wiederum mit Inhalten anreichern. Seine k\u00fcnstlerische Herangehensweisen erinnern mich an gro\u00dfe amerikanische Vorbilder wie den Pop-Art K\u00fcnstler Robert Indiana, der mit seinen ikonographischen Schrift-Skulpturen \u201eLOVE\u201c und \u201eHOPE\u201c Einzug in unser kulturelles Ged\u00e4chtnis gehalten hat. Als Institution, deren Fokus Streetart, Urban Art und Graffiti ist, sind wir an einer k\u00fcnstlerischen Praxis, die sich stilistisch und konzeptionell mit dem Thema des Tags und der Schrift besch\u00e4ftigt, nat\u00fcrlich sehr interessiert.<\/em>\u201c so Jan Sauerwald, Direktor des URBAN NATION Museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00dcber Stohead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stohead ist einer der bekanntesten deutschen K\u00fcnstler im Feld der Streetart. Er lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Von 2000\u20132006 war er Teil der Ateliergemeinschaft getting-up in Hamburg. Ende der 1980er Jahre begann der K\u00fcnstler sich \u00fcber den Weg des klassischen Graffiti mit Schrift und Kalligraphie auseinanderzusetzten. Er hat sich durch seine jahrzehntelange Besch\u00e4ftigung mit Schriftbild und Buchstaben zu einem Spezialisten in diesem Bereich entwickelt. Stohead verbin-det seine k\u00fcnstlerisch hochwertigen und sehr aufwendig zu produzierenden Fassadenbilder immer mit einer Botschaft, die man erst entschl\u00fcsseln muss. Neben klassischem Graffiti zu Beginn sei-ner Karriere zeichnen sich Stoheads Arbeiten vor allem durch seine gro\u00dfformatigen und technisch anspruchsvollen Gem\u00e4lde aus, die er bereits auf zahlreichen Ausstellungen pr\u00e4sentiert hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00dcber ONE WALL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit Stoheads One Wall erschafft das URBAN NATION ein weiteres Kunstwerk im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum, das Entwicklungen in den Kiezen kommentieren und BetrachterInnen zum Nachregen anre-gen soll. Das One-Wall-Programm wird vom Leiter des URBAN NATION Museums, Jan Sauer-wald, kuratiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
