Director and Chief Executive Curator
Yasha Young is the director and curator of URBAN NATION, a world's unique museum for Urban Contemporary Art. Also the two internationally renowned projects Project M/ and One Wall were conceived by Young and will be continuously developed. Young has been a member of the international art scene since 2001. Her current work with URBAN NATION is based on a high-caliber, worldwide network of artists, collectors and entrepreneurs.
She built up this network as a gallery owner (Strychnin gallery locations: NYC / London / Berlin 2001 -13) and independent curator of more than 250 worldwide prestigious exhibitions (e.g. Shepard Fairey, Swoon Invader, Sotheby's UK, Omotesado Hills Tokyo, Saatchi UK, Lollapalooza Berlin, Museum of Contemporary Art Rome etc.), but also as a director and cofounder of the trade fair segment Blooom, a place for young art during the Art.Fair Cologne. The main focus of her work is to promote and collect urban contemporary art as well as support its artists.
