Yasha Young is the concept creator and executive creative director of URBAN NATION, Berlin’s unique and worldwide first museum of urban contemporary art. As part of her vision she created and founded the two internationally reknown exhibtion and art projects: Project M / and One Wall which support young artists and curators on an international level and that are continuously evolving. She also developed the UN museum’s progressive international artist in residency program. Young is deeply involved in the international art scene as a curator, innovator, project developer, art career and high profile collection manager.
Her current work with URBAN NATION is the extension of her unique and global network of artists, collectors and entrepreneurs. This network has its roots in her work as a gallery owner (Strychnin Gallery Locations: NYC / London / Berlin 2001 -13), as a curator of more than 250 world-renowned exhibitions (e.g., Shepard Fairey, Swoon Invader, Sotheby’s UK, Omotesado Hills Tokyo, Saatchi UK, Lollapalooza Berlin, Museum of Contemporary Art Rome, etc.) and co-founder and director of Blooom a segment of Art.Fair Cologne now Art Duesseldorf with a specially developed emerging artists award and has gained recognition as s keynote and impulse speaker worldwide.
She is also responsible of curating the urban art and Avantgarde segment of the Berlin exhibition at the Humboldt Forum Berlin which is opening 2019. Her work focuses on developing, promoting, collecting and supporting Urban Contemporary Art in all its facets worldwide and the development of the “living” museum as a concept to promote integrative and educational as well as participant oriented programming for international institutions.
