Premiere: The URBAN NATION MUSEUM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART at the 38th Long Night of Museums

On this special Berlin night, come to the URBAN NATION museum to experience express tours and its very own staircase installation. The building, which was opened in September of 2017, is one of the five new Berlin museums that will take part for the first time in this year’s Long Night of Museums.

The Sound Of My Color:
Staircase artwork will become a sound installation

For the 38th Long Night of Museums, URBAN NATION will demonstrate that anyone can be an artist and invite people to an interactive art event from 6 PM to 2 AM. On two colorfully designed museum staircases, visitors can create their own melody and take their personal work of art with them before they leave. As part of an express tour, museum visitors will also get to know the highlights of the current exhibition “Unique. United. Unstoppable.”, which brings together studio works from around 140 of the most influential urban artists from around the world. It is one of the last chances to see this exhibition, as a change in exhibition will be announced this coming September.

URBAN NATION presents Project M/13 – The Monster Project

In addition to the activities at the URBAN NATION Museum, the URBAN NATION Production Office will be open and will show a special kind of exhibition: In July of 2018, 74 children from the ages of five to twelve years old and from 17 different Berlin facilities took part in a workshop from URBAN NATION and The Monster Project and painted big, small, funny, spooky, colorful, and quite imaginative monsters. At the end, the children’s pictures were handed over to renowned artists and reinterpreted. The results can be admired at the URBAN NATION Production Office diagonally across from the museum. Around 500 people attended last Friday’s vernissage.
