Have you spotted these new works in the URBAN NATION neighborhood yet? Before things went haywire due to Martha Cooper’s visit to Berlin in October 2021, JPS did us the honor and sprinkled Bülowstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg with some new treasures.

The artist’s stencils find inspiration in the pop cultural context of the 1980s and 90s, as well as in the Bible. In some of this works, direct connections can be drawn to the movies “The Craft” (1996), “Short Circuit” (1986), and Jesus’ Way of the Cross while commenting on our society today.
For example, while the famous robot Johnny 5 in the film always asks for “Input Input”, nowadays there is constant the demand for “Output Output”. Society is forced to deliver, the quantity ranks above the quality. People are becoming robots. The same goes for artists who are under constant pressure to deliver, bearing the cross of creativity.
