Community Wall by Sinan Dur

Together with graffiti artist Sinan Dur, aka Bandit, and the senior group “Zeitlos” from the Staaken Cultural Center, the exterior wall of the neighborhood shop Room 66 was redesigned. Around ten participants first created stencils. One particularly creative lady collected leaves from nature and transformed their outlines into templates for the graffiti artwork. At midday, spraying began on Sandstraße. Several local residents of all ages stopped to watch. RBB was also on site to film a video about the project. The seniors had a great time and supported each other while spraying. The workshop was not only about an artistic participation project; through art, it also encouraged people to get to know one another and fostered exchange with neighbors and local residents.
