ONE WALL by Lady Pink

A special highlight of the exhibition LOVE LETTERS TO THE CITY is the work of graffiti pioneer Lady Pink on the façade of the URBAN NATION Museum. Lady Pink, born in Ecuador, grew up in New York and began writing graffiti in 1979. She painted subways until 1985 and was the only woman on the scene. Over time, her artwork became more political, combining feminist and spiritual themes with South American and indigenous iconography. For Berlin, she created a work that combines the cityscapes of New York and Berlin with themes from hip-hop culture, creating a universal image of the urban world.
