Biography / BLO

French artist known as BLO is an artist whose works carry a classical discourse in both the spray paint, the ink marker and other materials used by the artist and the style of composition by the artist also. BLO’s works are featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

BLO’s first interactions with graffiti, winds back to his younger times in Lyon, France, where his art was driven not only by the need to paint, but to deface or in other words, to destroy. His creativity as an artist is a method to question, invert or pervert aspects of daily life. The familiarity in his works, from his hand speed to the looseness of his line, not forgetting his composition and materials, derive from his methods of traditional graffiti.

Recently, BLO continues to create his works in urban landscapes, though the style of the work is distancing away from character illustration and letter styles and has focused on creating works more figurative, drawing from religious imagery, sex, death, and classical painting.
