Biography / CAKE

Jennifer Caviola, also known as Cake, is a fine artist based in New York City. She is best known for her unique illustrations, paintings and wheat paste murals. She paints mostly portraits of beautiful women enhanced with vibrant colours. Through her art she has managed to make a difference over the past years. Slowly but surely, she is becoming one of the most influential street artists. Cake’s works can be found on their collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/7 in 2015.

Cake has gained her BFA in Painting at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY and her MFA at Parsons in NYC. Cake’s works have been exhibited at numerous galleries and exhibitions and moreover her work has been published in publications like Vogue, The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and many more. The reason why Cake’s work is so special is definitely because of her ability to tell a story through her portraits. With her work not only does she express her support of women, but she also spreads a voice of solidarity. In addition to this, she exceeds to connect this beautiful woman’s portraits with the viewer’s own hearths. Additionally watching how the women’s curves take architectural shapes, she gives every character straight, power and vulnerability at the same time.
