Biography / DABSMYLA

Australian husband-and-wife team DABSMYLA are artists that reach across a number of different medias, ranging from interior, exterior, paintings, installations, objects, sculptures and murals. Selected works from DABSMYLA are a part of their collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/4 in 2014.

After finishing art school, Dabs and Myla started working as a team. Today, they create characters in the style of early cartoons and mix them with colourful and vibrant backgrounds or use them as parts of wild abstract patterns. Their art is the manifestation of a radical joie de vivre that sometimes takes things just a tad too far. Installations that turn whole rooms into giant fun-zones or murals that transform grey façades into colourful urban elements – there is nothing random about DABSMYLA’s art, it’s all aimed at changing or enhancing the viewers momentary perspective.
