Born in Wuhan, China, DALeast is currently based in Cape Town, South Africa, and famous for his large murals, in which uncountable metal shards form beautiful shapes. DALeast says he has been making art since he was three years old. Working on everything when during his youth in China. Paintings, sculptures, installations, synchronising performances and digital art and finally, painting in public spaces since 2004. He graduated in sculpture at the Institute of Fine Arts and today travels six month a year to leave his murals, often illegally and therefore making an even greater impression across the world. His three-dimensional works often show animals hunting prey or humans in DALeast’s individual and skilful layering of lines. He contributed to art projects worldwide and his works where shown in solo shows and group exhibitions on almost every continent.
