Biography / DAVID WALKER

David Walker is an artist based in London known for his vividly coloured portraits using spray paint in the form of street art. His work is done without the use of stencils or brushes and it is often blended through as colours drip or mixed. Walker has collaborated on different projects most notably being URBAN NATION at Wall/Therapy in Rochester, NY.

This unique style developed over a period of years has many wishing to know the artist more in depth. In his early days, financial challenges limited David to use black, white and pink spray paints, as they were the cheapest at the time.

Working in portraiture, painting freehand, using only spray paints, David has developed his own style of multi-layering. Combining both sophisticated and dumb mark making, he paints a myriad scrawled lines and abstract areas that interlace through clashing colours, translucent drips and decaying letterforms, the result show a visually rich portrait that fuses photo realism, abstraction and graffiti art sensibilities with a raw energy.
