Born in the eastern part of Berlin, Dino Richter aka Dinopium grew up in reunified Berlin between prefabricated buildings and gravel lots in Marzahn on the outskirts of the city. After his first forays into the illegal and correspondingly exciting world of graffiti, he ended up as a teenager in the hotspot for alternative lifestyle and street art, Berlin Friedrichshain.
Stencils and later adhesive tape are among his techniques. What began out of boredom while working with simple names on colleagues’ desks, he developed into ever more complex patterns, typography and geometric shapes.
