His paintings are very much based on his own feelings, normally with starting point in his own mental development. They are therefore very personal to him. In other words – Emil has to know the feeling he is painting, or at least has a vision about how it might feel or look like, like feeling lonely and wanting to break free from it. In his work he mostly uses his bare hands and fingernails, which gives his paintings the exact expression that he desires.
