German creative Julia Benz is an artist known for developing her very own style ranging from figurative to conceptual art with overlapping layers and without any strict pre-conception or composition made. Julia’s painting style ranges from figurative to conceptual art. Her works are featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION museum in 2017.
Benz’s first contact with art was an exhibition of Paul Cezanne that she visited with her parents at the age of three. Twenty years later, she was confronted with one of the paintings and able to remember her fascination. After studying Art education, textile design and mathematics to become a teacher in Cologne, Julia Benz felt an urge to paint. So she applied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and the Academy of Arts in Berlin. Since then she has created her very own moniker to her works using figurative to conceptual art by overlapping layers without pre-conception or composition, a mode of operation that symbolizes her deep trust in the process of work. Today Julia Benz lives and works in Berlin and has exhibited her artwork in several shows since 2012.
