Júlia Mota Albuquerque is a Brazilian freelance artist, based in Berlin. She loves working on multi color and busy compositions usually portraying quirky characters that accompany a backdrop of organic nature motifs. Colorful plants and colorful people are important themes in the universe of her drawings. They represent her strong connection with nature, colors, people, fashion, architecture and lifestyle of her home country, Brazil.
“Ultimately, my work is and will always be about my experiences in this world. Nothing I ever created would have been possible if I didn’t live the life I lived. That’s why I love to highlight that I don’t only bring Brazilian culture into my work, but also my experiences living for many years in the U.S. and Germany and many other cultures I experienced while traveling and living. I like to think of my work as a mash up of my life and somehow a visual diary, showcasing all my experiences of happiness in this world.”
