‘I want every aspect of my life to be art’, says South-African performance artist, designer, and musician, Manthe Ribane, As a conceptual performance artist, the visual language of her hypnotic choreographies is inspired by graphic design and visual art. Who also found the creative collective known as ‘Dear Ribane’ with her siblings. Her work is featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

Manthe Ribane was born and grew up in Soweto, South Africa. As a member of the Johannesburg based dance group V.I.N.T.A.G.E. she toured the world together with Die Antwoord’s dance ensemble. Later she formed the creative collective Dear Ribane together with her siblings Tebogo and Kokona describing their work as ‘creating strong and timeless narratives through conceptual editorial, set designs, innovative clothing designs and theatrical performance’ aiming to set new trade standards. Dear Ribane has performed and exhibited in Amsterdam, London or Switzerland and worked on campaigns with international brands.
