Maxim Brandt, born in 1986, studied at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel from 2008-2015. Since then he has lived and worked in Berlin. He has received various art awards and scholarships. He spent the first years of his life in eastern Ukraine, where he came into contact not only with the Ukrainian but also the Russian fairytale world. The illustrations of the children’s books, in particular, made a lasting impression on him. Maxim Brandt’s figurative painting moves in the border area of fiction and transports the viewer into an imaginary, fairy-tale world full of dark inconsistencies and contradictions. Maxim Brandt realized a community wall as part of the Bülow Streetart Jam 2024.
