Biography / OSTAP

Vyacheslav “Slava” Osinski a.k.a.OSTAP is a USSR-born, Berlin-based artist. Having studied architecture and printing, he began his artistic career on the streets of Berlin.

OSTAP started with conventional spray paint and soon added other media, notably tape, both duct, and packing tape. Printing techniques like stenciling or halftone screen are strong influences in his tape art. Whether on the street, indoors or on canvas Ostap likes to play with different materials and textures in his work. He also appropriates pop culture, political, and social artifacts in his work. Many of his pieces blend the lines between modern and classical art.

Ostap currently lives in Berlin and remains active on the street scene and participates in social projects like the project “Huzur” in 2017.
