Samuel Henne, born in 1982, studied fine arts at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and graduated as „Meisterschüler“ of Prof. Dörte Eißfeldt. In addition to solo exhibitions at Kunstverein Hannover; Kunstverein Göttingen; Museum für Photographie, Braunschweig; Deutsches Haus der New York University, New York, among others, Samuel Henne participated in institutional group exhibitions at NRW-Forum, Düsseldorf; MKK – Museum für Konkrete Kunst, Ingolstadt; GAK – Gesellschaft für aktuelle Kunst, Bremen; NAK – Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, Sprengel Museum, Hannover; Deichtorhallen – Haus der Photographie, Hamburg and Goethe Institute Washington. His works were part of the traveling group exhibition “Beyond the Sphere of Reproduction – Contemporary Photography from China and Germany”, which was shown in various institutions in Germany and China. Among others, he was a prize-winner of “gute aussichten – new german photography” (Deichtorhallen Hamburg) and was awarded the prize of the Kunstverein Hannover – Atelierstipendium Villa Minimo. In 2018, he received the one year New York Fellowship of the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung and the State of Lower Saxony at the ISCP – International Studio & Curatorial Program, New York.
Since 2016, Henne is co-operator and artistic director of the non-profit, artist-run, ad/ad – Project Space in Hannover.
