Biography / Serge

Serge ‘Lowrider’ Nidegger was born in 1972 and currently lives and works in Freiburg.

When printing his first stickers at the age of eight, Serge Nidegger already knew he had found his profession. He then trained in screen printing and the tricks of the trade. In order to be able to continue practising this craft with passion, he set up his own company.

Serge likes his graphic design to be a little more retro and with intense colours. He lays claim to a tradition that dates back to the sixties and prefers developing this ‘old-school’ technique, rather than yielding to the ‘totally digital’.

He would rather use a Stanley knife in one hand and a paintbrush in the other than manipulate vectors with his computer mouse. On his frequent journeys, he is always accompanied by a drawing pad. These images serve as a source of inspiration for the creation of paintings, screen prints and even reliefs or sculptures.

His name and ability have become points of reference in the world of printing and led him to collaborations with a broad network of artists, labels, videographers, galleries and rock clubs, in both Europe and the United States. He takes advantage of these opportunities to face up to challenges and invent something different on each occasion.
