Biography / WK Interact

France born and New York based artist WK, also known as WK Interact, is an outstanding artist. Best known for his unique creation of black and white imagery with portraits on canvas of famous athletes and an outstanding mural artwork, he takes an original drawing or a photograph and while being photocopied he twists it. His murals capture mainly humans caught in a movement; jumping, running, flying just being alive. WK Interact’s works are featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

He came to the United States taking only the desire to be and do more. Having such a difficult start with no support, no educational background and no one to turn to, made him turn to himself and create an unmistakable imagery murals with black line streaks of subjects appearing across the painting. His humans always have powerful facial expressions and are surrounded and interact with the urban environment. WK chooses his appropriate location first than an imagery that will interact with the chosen urban space (thus the pseudonym.) His murals started appearing on the facades in downtown Manhattan giving a surreal experience and complementing the motion of contemporary urban life style in the city. The beauty of this internationally recognised artist is conveyed in the name itself. He strives for interaction with the location, with the people living there and the passers by and the buildings themselves.
