Biography / Zabou

Zabou is a talented, French born painter and street artist, currently based in London. While many of her murals can be found around London’s Shoreditch neighbourhood, she has worked on commissioned pieces and exhibited in galleries around the world. Zabou’s work is a mix of spray paint and acrylics, with stencil work making up a big part of her colourful, striking and thought-provoking pieces. Zabou has collaborated URBAN NATION by contributing her work on a Community Wall project in 2016.

Pursuing a degree in graphic design, Zabou moved to London in 2012. Being impressed with the quality and quantity of street art in London, she took her interest in painting and drawing to the streets. Looking to spread love, fun and rebellion, many of Zabou’s artworks are expressive portraits and headshots that are meant to entertain or provoke the viewers imagination and thoughts on societal issues. Many times, über-expressive facial features and vivid eyes are the focal point of these artworks. Pushing visual and spatial boundaries by including her paintings and murals into their specific surrounding, Zabou blurs the lines between wall art and installation.
