ONE WALL by 1010

The mural by 1010, an urban contemporary artist from Hamburg, is a work of art that seems to transcend the boundaries of reality. 1010 is known for his “holes” that he paints into the urban landscape. For the artist, these holes are not merely depictions but are meant to penetrate the very fabric of space and time. They are composed of many layers of color, creating an illusion of depth and dimension.

The mural, created in collaboration with URBAN NATION as part of Project M/9 in 2016, features these characteristic abstract holes that resemble portals. The colors in green, yellow, and blue are vibrant and contrast sharply against the brown facade of the building, enhancing the effect of three-dimensional depth.

Since he put his first piece on a wall in 1994 at the age of 15, 1010 has come a long way. After a phase of experimentation, he has developed his own visual language since 2010. Although little is known about 1010, not even his real name, his murals leave an unmistakable imprint and contribute to transforming the urban environment into a vibrant canvas.
