COMMUNITY WALL: WORKSHOP WITH MARIA BRUDAŞCĂ GROWS ANOTHER WOOD IN THE TUNNEL
In 2023, two tunnels have already been painted by children and young people with artists from our Fresh A.I.R. scholarship programme. Now the last tunnel passage was painted and has become even more colourful! Over two days, around 20 children from the Wunderblume daycare centre and some children from the Heerstraße Nord neighbourhood painted the last tunnel passageway at Sandstraße 64 in Staaken together with Fresh A.I.R. artist Maria Brudașcă.
The result is a wonderful forest: the trees in all shapes bear colourful fruit and you can discover many animals and flowers. The warm colours radiate into the tunnel subway and make the passageway a friendlier place. All the neighbours who came by during the production were delighted: one mother, whose children were allowed to help paint, donated a few colours straight away and others would have loved to paint themselves.
The wall painting is a cooperation project between the artist residency programme Fresh A.I.R. and partners of the Stadtraum!Plus programme of the Berliner Leben Foundation.
