Maria Brudașcă (b. 1989) is a visual artist based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Having a formation in graphic arts she works mainly in the fields of illustration, animation, video and cultural education. Drawing is her instrument for observing, recording and translating experiences into visual narrations.
Her works explore the relationship between the surrounding environment and the inner world. With a focus on interactions, gestures and moods that occur when people share a space with others, her works evoke the ephemeral connections that occur in everyday life.
About the project
Paper Playground
The project “Paper Playground“ aims to highlight the importance of free access to child-friendly outdoor public spaces and offline forms of self-expression in the context of growing mental and physical health issues related to the extensive use of technology. It proposes a visual charting of parks, playgrounds, gardens and other community spaces.
The outcome of the project consists of constructing a paper playground designed to replicate the positive qualities of Berlin’s generous public spaces, in which people are invited to interact and play.
