The mural depicts a composition of pixelated plants, animals, and geometric shapes floating in a bright blue environment. In bold, contrasting colors—orange, red, turquoise, yellow, and pink—abstract motifs unfold, reminiscent of digital icons, early computer graphics, and comic book characters. This fusion of natural forms and digital aesthetics is typical of DXTR’s visual language, which combines humor, precision, and visual energy into a poetic whole.
In terms of content, the work addresses the translation of the analog into the digital: plants and birds do not appear as realistic images, but as newly coded symbols of a nature that lives on in the contemporary, mediatized world. DXTR uses the pixel grid not as a limitation, but as a form of expression for the tension between organic growth and technical control.
Formally, DXTR works with precisely placed color fields and a rhythmic arrangement reminiscent of mosaics or building blocks. The clear contours and additive structure create a sense of movement and playful dynamism, while the rough pixel aesthetic ironically breaks with the perfection of digital graphics systems. Through this deliberate recourse to a “retro-digital” formal language, the artist succeeds in combining pop culture, street art, and painting. DXTR reflects on the logic of the digital present using the medium of mural painting.
