Multi-disciplinary artist, Askew One from Auckland, New Zealand, is mostly known for his graffiti work. Part of the world-renowned MSK- crew, Askew One is regarded as one of the driving forces of New Zealand’s graffiti scene. Askew One has collaborated with URBAN NATION on Project M/9 in 2016.
Askew One is a busy man. He has been organising Auckland’s first graffiti festival, setting up gallery spaces and published books and magazines showcasing graffiti art from New Zealand. Then, not to be forgotten, his active career as an urban artist: after beginnings as a classical graffiti artist, Askew One has evolved his style into the post- graffiti realm. “Portraiture by alternative means” – what Askew One calls his momentary means of expression, part figurative work, and part abstracts. His gripping oeuvre can be viewed on canvas and concrete.
