Brian Mashburn is an American artist. Based in North Carolina, his works have gained critical acclaim for his hyper-realistic oil paintings that feature landscapes of urban and industrial areas being combined with natural environments. Brian Mashburn’s works are featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2002, Mashburn uses his incredible detailing in his art to gain the audiences attention. In addition to the breath-taking views found in his art that is reminiscent of the Gothic 19th Century, Brian Mashburn also incorporates his interests in philosophy, history and science intro his works to create a narrative that is captivating, recognisable and metaphorical.

Brian’s art leaves a lasting impression of dysfunctional contexts contextual by depicting the progress of human development and putting this into stark contrast to the ubiquity of nature.

In December, the URBAN NATION MUSEUM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART invited the Berlin artist trio “innerfields” to design a house façade in Prenzlauer Berg for the latest “OneWall” project. With “innerfields” the 27th “OneWall” project of URBAN NATION was realized.
