Brian Mashburn is an American artist. Based in North Carolina, his works have gained critical acclaim for his hyper-realistic oil paintings that feature landscapes of urban and industrial areas being combined with natural environments. Brian Mashburn’s works are featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2002, Mashburn uses his incredible detailing in his art to gain the audiences attention. In addition to the breath-taking views found in his art that is reminiscent of the Gothic 19th Century, Brian also incorporates his interests in philosophy, history and science intro his works to create a narrative that is captivating, recognisable and metaphorical.

Brian’s art leaves a lasting impression of dysfunctional contexts contextual by depicting the progress of human development and putting this into stark contrast to the ubiquity of nature.
