Biography / DAIN

DAIN is one of the most influential street artists to emerge from New York. He is known for combining wheat pasting, silk-screening, spray paint, collage, and acrylic combines the visual language of graffiti with collaged old portraits of Hollywood glamour stars. DAIN’s works are featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.

Crossing genres and often working with single pieces back and forth between the street and studio. DAIN creates his art with black-and-white photos that he layers with old adverts, logos, and other various images before adding paint; his moniker, a dripping circle around one eye of his subjects. DAIN perceives his art as a combination of derelict gestures of graffiti and the feminine aspects of his subjects. His works have been exhibited in shows across the globe in Paris, Berlin, Rome, Miami and New York City. His works have been included in URBAN NATION’s permanent collection among other titans such as Banksy and Invader.
