Biography / Evoca1

Dominican born and Miami based artist, designer and muralist EVOCA1 brings expressive imagery to urban spaces around the world. While he effortlessly works with a wide range of media, photorealistic murals stylistically altered to look like oil paintings (on canvas) are his forte. Curated by Urban Nation, EVOCA1 was among 10 street artists to collaborate with a selection of audio artists for the 2015 Iceland Airwaves „Wall Poetry“ project. His work, depicting a giant fisherman weathering the course back home, sits on the wall oft Reykjavik’s Ministry of Fishing.

With his art being strong and impressive, yet quite delicate, often coating huge buildings, EVOCA1 manages to create a distinctive sensibility and empathic character referring to his efforts of combining art with the acts of social conscience. Motivated by the agenda of merging art and humanity into a single creation, most of his work expresses his wish of raising awareness about the difficulties impoverished people have to face on an everyday basis.

As a self-taught artist he now travels the world in order to develop his craft and share his message
