Hijack is a Los Angeles-based contemporary artist, creating political, social and cultural commentaries. His work ranges from one-color-stencils to largescale murals, challenging the status quo with his tongue-in-cheek style and dark humor.
As the son of the renowned Mr. Brainwash, Hijack grew up surrounded by some of the most prolific international street artists. Focusing on the craft of meaningful messaging, his style oscillates between classical influences of the fine arts and the subversive exposure to graffiti. His work speaks to the
multifaceted versions of ourselves, and how failure is an inevitable part of our self-discovery and progress.
Recently, Hijack has embarked on a new body of work, working with broken glass to create stark, three-dimensional images. His detailed stencils, controlled drips of paint and urban compositions are simple yet evocative. Working on cement, glass and metal gives his work a fresh and raw feel, living somewhere between street art and fine art. For Hijack, art is a lifestyle, a passion. His signature style, imbued with positivity, represents a bracing future for the next generation of artists.
His work entitled “FAILURES REFINE, NOT DEFINE” can be seen in the current exhibition “Talking…& Other Banana Skins“.
