Jeff Hong is an animation and storyboard artist based in Los Angeles. He takes what is nostalgic, precious and innocent, and forces the viewer to confront the reality of both the environmental and social problems at the forefront of today’s society.
Hong uses recognizable characters to touch a broad audience. He plays on the emotional attachment to these characters and uses the empathy which they evoke to raise awareness about the destruction of advanced globalization.
Jeff Hong is a huge Disney fan and is very fortunate to be an animation artist on several Disney films. He began his career as an animation storyboard artist. Right after graduating from high school, he was hired by Disney and worked there for a couple of years.
His artwork ‘DISNEY UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER’ can be seen in the current exhibition “Talking…& Other Banana Skins“.
