Californian artist Jessica Dalva completed her art studies in 2009 with a focus on illustration. Since then she has been involved in painting and sculpture, sewing theatre costumes, in stage design and puppetry. Dalva is constantly on the lookout for new challenges and experiences and has already created a diverse and impressive oeuvre. Her work can be found on her collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/14 in 2019.
Dalva’s mother, also a sculptor, introduced her to the secrets of the art form as a child and is still the artist’s greatest role model today. Most of Dalva’s works are made of Super Sculpey Polymer Clay, with many additional materials. She is adept at developing authentic gestural forms of expression and exaggerating the realism of her sculptures with distorted or excessive details.
