While the semi-autodidact duo, while Alita is self-taught Wally went on and attended the European Institute of Design receiving a degree in Advertising Art Direction, is still heavily involved in creating graffiti based murals, their main focus is on using stencil technique for its aesthetic impact and communicative power. Most recently their ‘Stencil on Stencil’ concept, a collection of portraits of famous leaders, celebrities and provocative artists, was an attempt of social criticism, with intricate matrices of written messages on finely cut stencil juxtaposing or supporting the visual on top of it, forcing it to lose its superficial side and public image.
