Biography / PIXOTE

New York City based and Brazilian born artist PIXOTE, is an outstanding street artist. Best known for his graffiti art but also his paintings his style is very similar to the Brazilian pixação, in his goal to spread positivity, awareness and love throughout his work. PIXOTE’s works are featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

PIXOTE moved to the States in the mid 90’s where he and got influenced by the Lower East Side music, skateboarding, and graffiti scene. Having to grow up surrounded by a completely different graffiti tags in Brazil (inspired by Nordic Art) and expending to the NYC’s tag culture it only defined the direction he would take. He incorporated the perfect mix of the pixação style made is more NYC like and put it onto the walls of the Big Apple. That combination of cryptic letters, Nordic runes and the prehistoric cave art express exactly what he wants to portray. Together with a group of like-minded people, that go under the name TWD (The Warrior Dream) have contributed so much to the NYC’s graffiti culture, not only with their graffiti artwork but also with their installations, drawings and posters.
