Flowers were used as symbols in protest movements, from Sophie Scholl to the flower-power era of the 1960s. The flower remains one of the most symbolic images to join significant moments of societal transition. In times of war, protest, celebration, life and death. Drawing inspiration from the old world of print media and comic books, this floral facsimile feels more like a digital icon than an organic product of nature.
His work “GOOD GRIEF” is on display in the current exhibition “Talking…& Other Banana Skins“.
