The artist Sara Bernabucci comes from Rome, Italy. She was part of the 2019 Fresh A.I.R. class of the URBAN NATION Artist in Residence Scholarship Program in Berlin.
Through the combined use of various techniques such as photography, laser engraving, graphite powder printing, and light projections, Bernabucci creates site-specific installations in three-dimensional form.
She always chooses a fragment of reality and then begins to draw a red line between reality and her imagination around this concrete object. These objects, which she calls matrices, contain a memory, a history, a representative affection, and they are the initial form from which she generates her work.
Sara Bernabucci studied painting and fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and also studied with the Japanese artist Hidetoshi Nagasawa. Thanks to a scholarship, she had the opportunity to further develop and refine her art in China and other non-European countries.
