Japanese artist ONEQ uses classic pin-up motifs and adds modern elements to them. She grew up isolated on the island of Kyushu, far away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Her influences do not derive from the lively city, but from the cultural customs of life in the Japanese countryside. ONEQ’s work can be found on her collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/14 in 2019.
Through her love for cats, comic books and the ocean, ONEQ finds constant inspiration for new creative projects. As a muralist, painter, illustrator and graffiti artist, she tries her hand at a variety of different fields and always faces new challenges. With her childlike enthusiasm for life and love, ONEQ invents herself and her art again and again.
