Biography / Sarah Joncas

Sarah Joncas is a Toronto-based artist who has been exhibiting in galleries since she was 16. She studied art at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Canada. Over the years, her work has matured into a successful fusion of high quality realism and whimsical painterly beauty. Her work can be found on her collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/14 in 2019.

Joncas’ interest in the visual arts began at a young age with dedicated drawings of dinosaurs and lizards. This work based on illustrative models and nature finally led to the need to create her own images and realities. On the one hand, they should reflect the world, but also take up the artist’s personal feelings and ideas. Since 2007 Joncas has been awarded several prizes. She regularly shows her art in exhibitions all over the world.
