Biography / Tara McPherson

Tara McPherson is an American artist, born in San Francisco in1976. She was raised in LA and is now based in New York City. She is best known for creating odd, in a way flawless innocence characters that have wisdom-full eyes. The colours she uses are soft and plane regardless if she is working on a mural, sculptures or her fine art pieces. Tara McPherson’s works are featured as a part of the opening of the URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

Tara earned her BFA from the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 2001. She got a major in Illustration and a Fine Art minor. While studying she was working on Matt Groening’s ‘Futurama’, which might have given her a nice basis. The portraits she creates travel throughout the kingdoms of our psychological state, through myths, legends, the nature, the love, the childhood and the life experience itself. Her artwork is lake a gate where one can see the complexity of the human nature. She has exhibited her paintings and serigraphs in fine art galleries all over the world and moreover was named the crown princess of poster art by ELLE Magazine. She has been featured in The New York Times, Esquire, Vanity Fair, Playboy, Bust, Elle, Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, Spin, MTV and has worked for Microsoft, Bulleit Bourbon, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, Swatch and Nike among others.
