Born in Thailand, Vipoo Srivilasa moved to Australia at the age of 20. Artistically, he is concerned with the cultures of these two countries, as well as political and social issues such as the environment and migration. He works mainly with ceramics. Vipoo has been exhibiting his art worldwide for more than 20 years. In 2019 he collaborates with URBAN NATION for Project M/14.
Vipoo completed his bachelor’s degree at Rangsit University in Bangkok in 1994. After going to Australia, he received a Graduate Diploma of Arts and a Master of Fine Art and Design. With the design of his delicate porcelain sculptures, the artist succeeds in creating a playful mixture of historical figurative and decorative art practices with a healthy dose of contemporary culture. Vipoo’s art is a successful attempt to convey a universal message of intercultural experience. This achievement has been confirmed by numerous international exhibitions and awards. In addition, Vipoo regularly collaborates with other artists.
