During the mid 90s, Jacopo Ceccarelli, also known as 2501, took his first steps in spray painting in his hometown of Milan, Italy. As he became more experienced, he moved on to work on trains and, after graduating high school, he decided to move to Brazil where he developed his signature style, visually stunning, monochromatic line art. Including mural, canvas, installation and sculpture work into his portfolio he developed into a nationally recognized artist. His work can be found on his collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/10 in 2016.
After his time in Brazil, 2501, studied cinema & video editing in addition to visual communication, expanded his skillset, moving away from classic lettering and establishing his hypnotic line work. As he integrates circles into his creations of lines with different widths and sizes, his fluid artworks seem to come to life, feeding off of the symbiotic relationship between positive and negative space that the monochromatic lines create. Besides sharing his impressive murals with neighborhoods from Italy to Mongolia, 2501 continues to exhibit his work in galleries around the globe.
