ONE WALL by Katrien Vanderlinden

Last week, Belgian street artist Katrien Vanderlinden transformed a basketball court in Berlin-Spandau into one of her artistic Hypecourts as part of URBAN NATION’s ONE WALL series. She received support from the children in the neighbourhood, who helped her create the unique work of art with a lot of joy and enthusiasm.

Layer Cake – The Versus Project

In the group exhibition The Versus Project, curators Patrick Hartl and Christian Hundertmark (C100) bring together thirteen artistic positions in an unusual way. The works on display literally cross borders and at the same time break one of the most important rules of graffiti.

This summer, the project space of the URBAN NATION Museum at Bülowstraße 97 presents the exhibition The Versus Project. The name speaks for itself: all the canvases on display were created in collaboration, namely by Hartl and Hundertmark in the form of the duo Layer Cake VERSUS the artists invited to the project.

Brave Wall by Katerina Voronina

Keen readers may be surprised by the term “Brave Wall”, as URBAN NATION’s large-format murals are usually called ONE WALL. “Brave Walls” are murals dedicated to human rights defenders and are initiated and realized worldwide by Amnesty International in cooperation with the global street art community. Now, in a joint collaboration between us and Amnesty International, the first “Brave Wall” was created in Berlin, a work by artist Katerina Voronina, which honors human rights defender Marielle Franco.
