As a project of the Berlin Leben Foundation, URBAN NATION aims to make urban and street art visible and accessible to everyone through a variety of offerings. Participation and own creativity are asked for and strengthened in our educational formats.
Therefore URBAN NATION is more than a museum. With its diverse programming, URBAN NATION links indoor and outdoor space – museum and city – and promotes dialogue between art and neighborhood. The project Stadtraum!Plus of the Stiftung Berliner Leben facilitates the exchange between Berlin actors and URBAN NATION and creates a variety of educational opportunities.
URBAN NATION is a place of cultural education with workshops and other innovative educational formats. We are active in the museum, in the museum’s workshop and throughout the city – e.g. through participatory mural designs.
Graffiti artist Age Age will show you how to create your own tags, funny logos and unique cartoon characters. Together we’ll produce lots of little sticker artworks that you can take home and distribute.
The BÜLOW STREET WKND offered a whole weekend of neighborhood festivities with a full program: workshops for children, panel discussions, vernissage, artist talks and performances, live concerts, guided tours and exhibitions.
Last week, Belgian street artist Katrien Vanderlinden transformed a basketball court in Berlin-Spandau into one of her artistic Hypecourts as part of URBAN NATION’s ONE WALL series. She received support from the children in the neighbourhood, who helped her create the unique work of art with a lot of joy and enthusiasm.
