Under the motto “ONE WALL – one wall, one artist, one message”, URBAN NATION has been inviting internationally renowned and emerging artists to create monumental paintings on building facades in Berlin since 2014. In this way, the face of the city is changed sustainably through urban art.
Every ONE WALL conveys an artistic position: the artists deal with the environment and then create an individual work. Through the targeted creative examination of the respective neighborhood, art and the neighborhood are linked with one another.
The mural “Akkord” created by the renowned Berlin-based artist collective innerfields honors the courage and resistance of Maria Terwiel during the Nazi regime. This significant ONE WALL, located on the façade of an apartment building at Schwambzeile 7 in the Paul-Hertz-Siedlung in Charlottenburg-Nord.
In September 2025, internationally renowned artist Jumu Monster will create a 50-meter-high mural at Magistratsweg 10, dedicated to the favorite places of residents in Heerstraße Nord. This portrait of the neighborhood tells a vivid visual story of urban diversity, everyday life, and community.
The mural Streethouse Unlimited transforms the façade of the youth center Streethouse into a vibrant and community-driven artwork. Developed by the artist AGE AGE in close collaboration with local youth during an on-site workshop, the mural reflects collective ideas and lived experiences. Through this participatory process, themes of identity, diversity, and a strong sense of community were translated into a dynamic visual narrative.

The artist duo Mots (Jagoda Cierniak, Poland, and Diogo Ruas, Portugal) explored the emotional power and aesthetic expression of objects during their stay in Berlin as part of the Fresh A.I.R. #4 residency program. The Berlin street artist Paula Marie has created a ONE WALL on the facade of an apartment building at Habermannzeile 1C in Charlottenburg-Nord. The painting is the result of a cooperation between the German Resistance Memorial Center, the Foundation Berliner Leben with the support of Gewobag.
