On October 27, 2023, we celebrate the opening of our exhibition of the Fresh A.I.R. scholars. Twelve artists from eight European countries have dedicated themselves for ten months to this year’s theme LINGUISTIC XPEDITION. They investigated the act of speaking as a constitutive element of human perception and communication. The artistic exploration ranges from aspects of everyday language use, verbal language actions, language thinking and language action to the structural power of language.

The exhibition »STORIES OF BERLIN« takes place on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Fresh A.I.R., the artist scholarship program of Stiftung Berliner Leben. The exhibition features video-artistic works created by former Fresh A.I.R. fellows who were active in Berlin between 2020 and 2022.

On April 27, 2023, Project M/19 LONELINESS AND OTHER FALSE FRIENDS opened in the URBAN NATION project space as part of the Berlin Gallery Weekend.

Since modernity, art and democracy have been a sign of progress, of emancipation; both are to a great extent objects of engagement. They are not only both something worth fighting for, or even something that nobilises the person fighting. They are also both only conceivable as activity, as commitment.

In the group exhibition The Versus Project, curators Patrick Hartl and Christian Hundertmark (C100) bring together thirteen artistic positions in an unusual way. The works on display literally cross borders and at the same time break one of the most important rules of graffiti.

This summer, the project space of the URBAN NATION Museum at Bülowstraße 97 presents the exhibition The Versus Project. The name speaks for itself: all the canvases on display were created in collaboration, namely by Hartl and Hundertmark in the form of the duo Layer Cake VERSUS the artists invited to the project.
