Zio Ziegler

American artist Zio Ziegler is a sculptor and painter based in San Francisco. Armed with a paintbrush, he creates open-ended with a tribal aesthetic to it. The works are created in such a way that the viewer interprets his works in their own personal way. Ziegler’s works can be found on their collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/12 in 2017.

Dave the Chimp

UK-born and Berlin-based artist and illustrator Dave the Chimp’s oeuvre started with skating and fanzines and is ranging from his famous ‘Human Beans’ to designing playgrounds today. His works can be found on his collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/11 in 2017.

AJ Fosik

AJ Fosik is an American artist, based in Portland, Oregon. He is renown for creating complex, three-dimensional pieces that feature vivid colours. AJ’s work reference a number of them, such as folk art, taxidermy, and cultural rituals. AJ Fosik’s works are featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

Tara McPherson

Tara McPherson is an American artist, born in San Francisco in1976. She was raised in LA and is now based in New York City. She is best known for creating odd, in a way flawless innocence characters that have wisdom-full eyes. The colours she uses are soft and plane regardless if she is working on a mural, sculptures or her fine art pieces. Tara McPherson’s works are featured as a part of the opening of the URBAN NATION Museum in 2017.

SellFable

Daniel van Nes, otherwise known as SellFable. Is an artist born in Terneuzen, Netherlands and lives in Rotterdam. He has produced multidisciplinary works including illuminated engravings, drawings, paintings, installations, performances and virtual reality. SellFable has cooperated with URBAN NATION in several Project M/s and is also part of the class of 2018 in the URBAN NATION Artist in Residence Programme.

Ron English

Ron English is known as one of the most prolific and well-known urban artists, often referred to as ‘The Godfather of Street Art’. Born in Decatur, Illinois, he became famous for innovations like ‘Culture Jamming’, modifying advertising billboards, and coining the term ‘POPaganda’, he created mash-ups of high and low cultural touchstones. Throughout his career he has worked within the field of street art, fine art and art toy design. His work can be found on his collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/2 in 2014.

Inkie

Big names from the urban art scene have come from Bristol and Inkie is one of them. With a career that goes back to the summer of 1984, he is one of Britain’s most prolific graffiti artists and one of the world’s original street artists. Selected works of Inkie’s art is featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.

Faile

Brooklyn-based artistic collaboration FAILE is Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller blurring the line between low and high culture with a wide-ranging multimedia practice since 1999. Since then painting and printmaking remain central to their approach, but the range of materials and techniques reaches from wooden boxes and window pallets to more traditional canvas, prints, sculptures, stencils, installations and even prayer wheels. FAILE’s works can be found on their collaboration with URBAN NATION on Project M/1 and M/6 in 2014.
