LONG NIGHT OF MUSEUMS @ URBAN NATION X Fresh A.I.R.

On August 30, 2025, the URBAN NATION Museum for Urban Contemporary Art will open its doors for the Lange Nacht der Museen 2025. Under this year’s theme “Love”, visitors can enjoy a diverse guided tour program from 6 pm to 11 pm, featuring the current exhibition “LOVE LETTERS TO THE CITY” as well as outdoor street art highlights along Bülowstraße – all offered in both German and English.

At 11 pm, the Late Night Special “Trans*itions of Love” begins, exploring the transformative power of love through artistic expression and personal encounters. Visitors are invited to meet the international fellows of the current Fresh A.I.R. residency program in open studios, talks, and performances. On this night, the museum becomes a space for connection and storytelling beyond traditional exhibition formats.

This year’s Fresh A.I.R. theme, “I AM FLUX: The Freedom of Being and the Possibilities of Becoming,” reflects on the human experience as a fluid, evolving process – a concept closely linked to the overall theme of the night: love as transformation, movement, and connection.

The exhibition LOVE LETTERS TO THE CITY presents urban art as a creative love letter to the urban environment – through murals, participatory formats, and artistic activism. It invites visitors to explore pressing urban issues like gentrification, social inequality, and city development from new and critical perspectives.

12 international scholarship holders give an insight into their diverse artistic practice and celebrate love and humanity in all its facets on four floors. Spaces for exchange, encounters and creative diversity will be created above the URBAN NATION Museum – with art, talks, drinks and music by DJ Filar on the top floor.
