URBAN NATION presents the international group exhibition “The Versus Project V” by the artist duo Layer Cake at the Satellite Gallery. In their collaborative works, Patrick Hartl and Christian Hundertmark (C100) question the unwritten graffiti rule of never painting over another graffiti writer’s work (“crossing”) unless it is an absolute provocation.
The artist duo Mots (Jagoda Cierniak, Poland, and Diogo Ruas, Portugal) explored the emotional power and aesthetic expression of objects during their stay in Berlin as part of the Fresh A.I.R. #4 residency program. One result of their artistic research is the ONE WALL at Spandauer Obstallee 22 that was painted in March, 2021.
Berlin street artist Christian Hinz aka “Kera” realized a new ONE WALL for Gewobag in October 2023. At Holtheimer Weg 25/27 in Berlin-Lichterfelde, a six- and seven-story building has been extensively renovated over the past three years.
The Berlin street artist Paula Marie has created a ONE WALL on the facade of an apartment building at Habermannzeile 1C in Charlottenburg-Nord. The painting is the result of a cooperation between the German Resistance Memorial Center, the Foundation Berliner Leben with the support of Gewobag.
After two well-received exhibitions at Urban Nation Museum in Berlin in 2019 and 2022, and at the Museum of Graffiti in Miami earlier this year, our cooperation The Versus Project makes its fourth stop at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles.
RABI created in September 2023 a new mural as part of the ONE WALL project, at Bötzowstr. 59, Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, extending his exhibition PM/20_gen+esc at the new Satelite Gallery at Sonnenallee 126, Berlin-Neukölln, into urban space.
On October 27, 2023, we celebrate the opening of our exhibition of the Fresh A.I.R. scholars. Twelve artists from eight European countries have dedicated themselves for ten months to this year’s theme LINGUISTIC XPEDITION. They investigated the act of speaking as a constitutive element of human perception and communication. The artistic exploration ranges from aspects of everyday language use, verbal language actions, language thinking and language action to the structural power of language.
With the latest wall design in Prenzlauer Berg on the corner of Stargarder Straße/Schönhauser Allee, the second One Wall by a Fresh A.I.R. fellow has now been implemented. The Ukrainian artist Apl315 created a sort of large-format picture puzzle within a week, which combines wall scribbles and notes from his hometown Odessa with his temporary home Berlin on several levels.
URBAN NATION presents the latest solo exhibition by artist RABI in the Project M/ series, Project M/20_generati0n+escape_//_thoughts_and_c0ntradicti0ns_//_seas0n_01:02_BERLIN, curated by Michelle Houston.
The inaugural exhibition will be presented at the new URBAN NATION Museum Satellite Gallery, in Neukölln, during Berlin Art Week, featuring short art films, installations, print editions, and ceramic sculptures.
The exhibition »STORIES OF BERLIN« takes place on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Fresh A.I.R., the artist scholarship program of Stiftung Berliner Leben. The exhibition features video-artistic works created by former Fresh A.I.R. fellows who were active in Berlin between 2020 and 2022.
