One Wall

Under the programmatic title “ONE WALL – one wall, one message,” the URBAN NATION Museum has been inviting international and up-and-coming street artists to create monumental images on selected facades in Berlin since 2014. This initiative sees murals not merely as decorative surfaces, but as interventionist acts in urban space: they mark, comment on, and transform the face of the city in a lasting way.

Each ONE WALL is more than just a single mural: it is an artistic statement that emerges from a reflective examination of the location, history, and environment. The invited artists consciously incorporate the specific topography, social structure, and aesthetic potential of the neighborhood into their designs. This dialogical process results in an individual work that articulates both the artistic position and the qualities of its context.
